YAMARITA!!

How to prepare the very tasty yamarita. One thing you should know is that yamarita is plain boiled yam that is coated in egg, flour, ginger, pepper and salt. Yamarita is nearly as popular as suya, it is seen in restaurants everywhere. This recipe is detailed and really comprehensive, trust me!

Yamarita is just easy and delicious. It really can be made in about 45mins, depending on the slices of yam you've got! It can be served with tomato stew, egg, fish, sauce, Monica sauce, etc...

Recipe

Yam - 1kg
Eggs - 3
Flour - 2 spoons
Vegetable oil - 300ml
Ginger - 1 spoon
Seasonning - 1 cube
Salt - 1 pinch
Dry pepper - 1 spoon

Yamarita is what you can always do with left over boiled yams. Either that, or you can prepare it from the scratch.

Step 1:
Peel the yam, slice into any shape, size; boil for 15 mins and allow to boil soft, drain and allow to cool.

Step 2:
Mix all the spices in a bowl, and add the whisked eggs then mix together (pepper, salt, seasoning, ginger, flour and egg).

Step 3:
Dip the slices of yam into the mixed ingredients

Dip the slices of yam one by one into the mixed ingredient and turn over to do same, make sure the paste is all around the yam

Step 4:
Fry! Fry! Fry!........Fry the soaked yam in oil, flip over while frying, dont allow the yam get burnt, and you can always add more bartar while it fries, some might like it heavily coated you know.

 Final Step:
Is this even a step at all? lol
Serve your home made yamarita with your favourite sauce and juice!!
Grilled fish/Chicken is also a welcome addition

Bon' apetite Mon Ami!
