Nigerian Music Icon Ebenezer Obey clocks 75

The tributes have been coming in celebrating one of Nigerians oldest music legend, Ebenezer Remilekun Aremu Olasupo Fabiyi A.K.A Ebenezer Obey as he clocks 75.

President Muhammadu Buhari has also joined in yesterday to congratulate him ahead of his day.
Mr. Femi Adeshina, the presidents special adviser on media and publicity, on Sunday in Abuja said Buhari's congratulatory message was contained in a letter addressed to the celebrant. In the letter to the evangelist, the president said: "Please accept my congratulations and that of teeming Nigerians, on this occasion of your 75th birthday anniversary. Chief Commander Ebenezer Fabiyi Obey is a household name in Nigeria and even beyond. You have through music flown the flag of Nigeria proudly in many nations of the world and you're a revertible ambassador of our motherland"

The president and Nigerians rejoiced with the septuagenarian at the auspicious moment while praying that God would grant him more years of service to the nation and humanity.

Ebenezer began his music career in the mid-1950s aftrer moving ti Lagos. Aftrer tutelage under late Fatai rolling-dollar band, he formed a band called "The International Brothers" in 1964, playing highlife-juju fusion. He later transformed into gospel music, devoting his life to chtristianity.

During this period, he released over 25 albums most of which were to critical and commercial acclaim.
